About the Longboard Family
Being a not for profit organisation we work towards a set of six development goals to benefit the whole community. We strongly believe in the importance to listen to our skateboarding community and support them to reach their full potential. We do this by providing longboarding programs to Councils, State Government, Schools, Communities and Individuals. These programs provide participants with the opportunity to learn real life skills, such as empathy, resilience, mindfulness, social skills, effective communication and more.
What our clients say:
We include longboarding workshops as part of our Get Set for Work program. We find that the workshops are a great way to stretch our comfort zones a little. While many of us feel nervous about getting on a longboard, Anna creates a safe, supportive space to give it a go. The feedback from the young people is always positive. One young person said that they ‘learnt how to be confident’. The workshops provide a fun, hands-on experience that builds resilience, self-confidence and a sense of achievement. We love The Brisbane Longboard Family!
